When I Grow Up...

Today our First Grade Frogs read the book, When I Grow Up, written by Peter Horn. As a reader's response, our first graders shared with us their dreams for growing up. Their responses were so fun. We thought we would share them with you! Enjoy these adorable hopes and dreams. We even left in a bit of first grade spelling for your pleasure! What a fun way to celebrate the week of the young child!

I want to be a singer. I will look crazy or cute or serious or a pretty girl. If I look crazy I would have a REALLY to the side ponytail and gloves. If I look serious I would sing serious. If I was pretty I would have a pretty dress.

I want to be a impierial desighner. I also want to be a landscaper. First I will draw what I want it to look like. And I also want to be doing most of the rehab on the house. I want to do that because I know that I would be good at it. I would mostly want to be the dirtiest person on my job sight.

When I grow up I will be a gold miner. I will get lots of gold for a jewelry store. And I will get diamonds. And some people will work with me to get rich and it will be fun. And I will take a mine crate to the gold. Then I will be rich-rich-rich. I will be mining with a pick ax and a digger 288, it digs and mines gold and diamonds. And I will gift it away to someone with no money.

I want to be a Vet. I will take care of animals. Some are cute and some are not cute. I am going to take care of horses. They can have a broken leg. Sometimes skunks they don't have the smell inside them anymore. I played Vet with my best friend. Her name was Lila. It was fun. I played it 20 times. I love animals. I had 2 dogs. They were cute. I had to give them away. It is so fun with animals.

I want to be a video game maker. Because I can make super cool games. Because I can be famous. I can make awesome video games and people would like me. And me and Ben would be famous. I would give my money to the poor. It would be super cool.

When I grow up I want to be a mom and I will have 3 kids and I will take them to the park one day a week and I want to be a mom because  I want to be like my mom. Because my mom takes us to the park once a week.

I want to be a vetunaryin. My cousin too. Because animals they are cute. I love math and vets love math. Vets can be a doctor sometimes. Vets are helpful and kind. Vets love puppies and dogs. Vets can make clothes for puppies and dogs.

I am going to be a mother. And I will be working and do important stuff. Learn stuff. I do things and do a lot of work. So I will be a better worker. And I do a lot to do. I got jobs to do!

I want to be a teacher. An art teacher. I would draw lots of pictures. I want to be an art teacher because I like art and I want to be a teacher. I want to make a lego company. We would design legos and sell them and make money.

I would program for windows and IOS too. I would give Toshiba, Dell, and HP and I might invent IOS twenty and internet fifteen. I want to do it because I like computers and I'm patient with old ones and I'm okay when things don't work especially with old ones and I am okay when they catch viruses too.

I am going to be a video game designer. I am going to make NBA All-Star 25. And NFL All-Star 38 and MLB All-Star 24. I will make a pokemon cards game for Wii.

I'll be a video game designer, I'll design Castel Crashers 3 with Everett. There'll be dragons and nights of deadlyness! But you will have to survive each night without being killed. So you build armies to help yourself. But you will get special helpers too! So you are not alone if raided a lot then you will have to spend your resources.

I want to be a football player. I want to be on the Seakhawks with the Sting helmets.

I want to be a NBA allstar. Right now I am a kid. And really good at basketball. I love it too. I play basketball so much. I could be a 7 year old allstar. I am going to be number twenty-three. And play for whoever drafts me. I might be in the hall-of-fame.

I want to be a NBA all star. And catch ally hoops, play in the all star games. And jump over people and dunk. And be the best 3 point shooter in the leeg. Or maybe I might play tackle football. For 2 years I'll play line-backer for 3 I'll play running back.

I might be a marine biologist and a mother cause I love sea creatures and I'm going to have 2 girls and 2 boys. I'm going to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner for my family. My favorite is the Stingray. I'm going to get maryd! I'm going to take care of my family.

When I grow up I want to be an artist and use my imagination and draw interesting drawings and maybe sketch things and I'm going to sell them and I will display my art outside. Why I wanted to be an artist is cause you get to show your art.

When I grow up I want to be an artist. I'm going to wear a pink hand and a white smock. I'm going to draw things and animals and people. I want to do it because I'm really good at art. The other reason is I'm happy with art!

When I grow up I want to be an engenere to bring the idea of solar cars and solar devises.

April Fools' Day Nature Lady

Our first grade tricksters had a fabulous April Fools' Day. They were first fooled by the schedule on the board, which called for recess and summer vacation. They then took a fake spelling test. Finally, they enjoyed a taste of brown-e. The best April Fools' day surprise was that Ms. Reynolds was our nature lady! All primary students learned from Ms. Reynolds about fish! It was a fabulous presentation and the children were very engaged. Take a look at the packet that Ms. Reynolds sent home for more information on fish! Enjoy these fun pictures!

Lemonade Days!

The first grade frogs loved visiting the fifth-grade lemonade stands. The fifth-graders learned how to be entrepreneurs through a program called lemonade days. They learned all about owning their own companies through local Barrington businesses. The competition was fierce and the marketing strategies were fabulous. It was a fun time had by all. The first graders could donate their money or enjoy a cup of lemonade! Some of our first grade friends enjoyed several cups of lemonade. Sugar high!
