Summer Learning
Happy Summer First Grade Frogs! Did you know that over the summer your teachers have been in school learning and preparing for you? We expect you to practice your reading over the summer, so we take classes to practice our teaching skills! We can't wait to show you all we are learning about this summer. Here are some of the things we are learning and creating in order to make the First Grade Frog classroom the best place to be:
SmartBoard lessons
Integrating Music Into Our Classroom
Close Reading Activites for Guided Reading
Blogs and YouTube
Google sites
Responsive Teaching: Cultural Differences Among Us
Physical activities for math
Common Core Standards
Digital Reading
Speaking and Listening for Second Language Learners
We have seen many of you at our Hough Reads Summer book clubs! There are still two more Thursday night book clubs, so please contact Dr. Marks to sign up! It is important for adults to be in book clubs, too! We are in three books clubs of our own. We are reading:
Falling in Love with Close Reading
Do the Math! Teaching Primary School Mathematics
Don't forget to check back soon for more posts about our summer happenings and about your first grade frog classroom!
